Overview

PAPPA STEAMBOAT & GRILL stands out as a compelling buffet destination nestled in the heart of Putrajaya. Located at W.P, 2, Jalan Diplomatik 2/1, Presint 15, this eatery specializes in steamboat and grilled dishes, skillfully blending fresh ingredients within a vibrant, open-air setting. The concept centers around indulgent all-you-can-eat options, making it an ideal choice for families, groups, and lovers of communal dining.

The restaurant's main attraction is its richly flavored Tomyam soup base, which forms the core of the steamboat experience here. Diners rave about the freshness of the meats and seafood—particularly the beef, lamb, and sizable prawns—which maintain their quality throughout the meal. The marinated chicken offers a savory option that complements the seafood selection nicely. Vegetables are plentiful and crisp, balancing the protein-heavy focus.

Beyond the steamboat, the grill section adds another layer of variety, inviting guests to enjoy smoky, well-seasoned dishes alongside their hotpot fare. The sauces, especially the signature 'pappa sauce,' enhance each bite, offering a customizable element to suit different palates.

Though the ready-to-eat offerings are more limited—featuring a handful of desserts such as chocolate tarts, puddings, and local favorites like ais kacang and Malaysia’s ice cream—the DIY waffle station and ice cream corner add playful touches that delight younger diners and adults alike. The inclusion of pasta and fried rice rounds out the buffet, catering to diverse tastes and ensuring a satisfying experience for all age groups.

The space itself is open-air, which creates a relaxed atmosphere and caters well to those who prefer a casual, smoke-friendly environment post-dining. The communal setup encourages leisurely meals and lively conversations, while the attentive service and clean facilities contribute to overall comfort.

PAPPA STEAMBOAT & GRILL appeals particularly to those who appreciate a hearty, fresh steamboat feast with generous portions and variety. Its Muslim-owned status further assures adherence to halal standards, attracting patrons who seek both quality and compliance in their dining choices. While weekend visits might require reservations due to popularity, the restaurant promises a rewarding experience marked by fresh ingredients, variety, and a warm, inviting ambiance.

Pappa Steamboat in this area. I don’t come here often. Honestly, I didn’t know this place existed unless Mohd Chan . Weekday price is RM30, weekend RM40. On weekends, I’d advise booking first to reserve a table. They have a variety of veggies, seafood, and frozen food. Ready-to-eat items are limited only about 6 desserts, 6 types of pasta or fried rice. There’s a waffle maker too. Drinks include 3 sweet drinks, one hot drink, and ABC. Not a huge selection, but totally worth it. You get what you pay for.

All seafoods and vegetables are fresh. I love the desserts especially chocolate tarts. They provide waffle, ice cream, nugget, sagoo pudding, and spaghetti which suitable if you come with children. They have adult, children, and elderly price if im not mistaken. It suitable to come with large family. In seafood part, they don't have a crab. It provides variety marinated meat and lamb. They also provide many choices of sauce that you can custom by yourself. Sometimes, customers need to que to get the seat. It open air so it easy for person who wants to smoke after meal.

Went on a weekend. Opens at 5. We didnt make any reservation so at that time, it was fully booked. But the owner open up tables at the back end for us. So we didnt get to experience dining inside. For the price, I would say, its cheaper compared to other steamboat and grills. Tons of varieties to choose from especially on the grill side. Flavours are spot on too. Adults : RM38.90 Kids : RM18.90 Below 4 eat for free. We ordered 1kg crab as well. Some are fresh and some are not but still ok. Got around 4 medium sized crabs. For steamboat, we chose chicken soup. Two choices either chicken soup or tomyam. Steamboat choices are fair. Tons of frozen items to choose from. Also got nasi goreng, pasta, nuggets for kids. Ice cream Malaysia was the best. Tons of flavours to choose from. Overall, quite nice resto. If ur planning to dine in on a weekend, better make early reservations.

Interesting food choices, a combination of seafood and western. There are many food options for children. Frequent refills of food that is running low. Very worth the price. The space inside the store is very comfortable. There is an additional room. Some are air-conditioned, some have ceiling fans.

Finding parking at this pappa steamboat place is quite challenging, it's always full! It can be frustrating, especially during peak hours. If you plan to visit, arrive early to secure a spot
